What is this role?
We are looking for a Management Accountant to join this medium sized Finance Department. Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will provide an effective service to the Finance Team to ensure financial reporting processes are in place and the relevant controls are applied. This is a critical partnering role liaising with all functions across the business.
This is a permanent, full time role working Monday to Friday, 08:30 until 17:00 with the flexible option of 1 day hybrid per week.
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Management of Management Accounting & Reporting team (two direct reports), ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with company policy / procedures
- Actively developing MA&R team members
- Acting as a key business partner to wide range of stakeholders, both within finance and cross-functionally
- Assist with the preparation, review and communication of financial results to strict deadlines, with focus on the following areas of responsibility:
o Turnover - Sales volumes & revenues
o Freight charges
o SG&A costs, including R&D
- Working closely with the UK Financial Controller to understand impact of Operational performance on UK result
- Monthly VAT and Intrastat submissions for VAT group
- Assisting with the preparation and review of annual budgets
- Apply a continuous improvement ethos towards all processes and assist with the development and redesign of various reporting and analysis tools
- Manage and control customer pricing
- Administration of agent commission agreements ensuring all accruals and subsequent payment are in accordance with contractual agreement
- Manage HMRC requirements
- Liaising with both Internal and External auditors
- Acting as key support for UK Financial controller, providing cover when required
- Other ad-hoc analysis and reporting as required
What skills will you need?
The successful candidate should possess strong analytical skills, along with a proven track record of problem solving. The successful candidate will require a high level of accuracy, along with a strong attention to detail. We are seeking a self-starter who can work upon their own initiative and manage multiple conflicting priorities to meet tight deadlines. The successful candidate will need to be a team player, someone who is pragmatic and who can make decisions with a commercial focus.
For this role, we are seeking a candidate who possesses a CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification. We would be willing to consider candidates who are currently working towards becoming fully qualified. The successful candidate will need to possess excellent Microsoft Excel skills and be able to demonstrate experience of working within a commercialised environment.
What are we offering in return?
The salary for this role will be circa £45,000 dependent upon experience.
Additionally, you will be given 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays) per year.
